Our Story
A Lifelong Passion
After a lifetime in the cycling industry and over a decade working as head mechanic with elite world tour cycling teams such as Drapac, Astana, Sunweb, EF Education First & Jayco-Alula, Michele Primaro has returned to Adelaide to support the local cycling community with his knowledge and expertise.

Working with the best cyclists in the world allowed Michele to become an expert in performance enhancing aerodynamic positions, elevated training technology, and access cutting-edge research on components and performance material, wind tunnel aerodynamic testing and precision bike fitting.
Exposure to the world's biggest one day races and grand tours, winning monuments such as Flanders, finishing on the podium and winning stages in grand tours such as the Giro d’Italia, and being part of the support team for world time trial champions such as Tom Dumoulin has given him unique insights into what it takes to elevate a rider to their highest personal level.
His participation in the world’s biggest events such as Vuelta a Espana, Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and all the great one day monuments and world tour races such as Paris-Roubaix, Flanders, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Amstel-Gold, Paris-Nice, Strade Bianche has given him insight and experience at a level inaccessible to most.
Prior to working at an international level, Michele held diverse roles in Australia, including running his own cycling store, Corsa Cycle Centre in Gouger Street, and coaching & managing professional local riders. A highlight of his local career was winning the Tour Down Under as the Director Sportif of the winning team UniSA in the 2004 event.
Michele had a passion for cycling from a very young age, which led him to become a pioneer in the South Australian cycling field. When he began racing as a teenager he discovered a love for the freedom that cycling brings. From being able to challenge himself mentally and physically to the highest levels, to experiencing nature in the finest way, he discovered that cycling is a sport like no other.
This led to him to compete in Italy as an amateur at an international level, racing in diverse and beautiful locations with large numbers of riders. He fell in love with the standard of competition, the professionalism, the high speeds and the exposure it gave him to world race culture.
Racing at the highest level as an amateur gave him a taste of the world of professional cycling and showed him just how far behind Australia was at the time on the international playing field. This sparked a passion in him to help people in his local cycling community compete on an international level. His international experience showed him the extent of the barriers local cyclists faced to break into the international circuit so he began putting teams together to race locally.
Michele used his strong connections in the industry to mentor and uplift up and coming cyclists over the span of his career. He took the first South Australian team to Victoria to compete in the Herald Sun Tour almost 25 years ago, which gave local riders the opportunity to compete at a national and international level. From there he exposed some riders to international pro contracts through his industry contacts. The first team he started locally was Caffe Paesano and then later the Rio Coffee Cycling Team. He then established the Lightsview team and managed it for ten years. It continues to this day known as the Villawood Cycling Team.
For Michele, cycling is a lifelong passion which has taken many different forms. Now, he brings that passion to his work at Primaro Service Course.
